Dr. Saad Saad has performed thousands of complex pediatric surgeries over the last 40 years. These surgeries have been performed on children ranging in age from infants to teenagers. He is based in Eatontown, New Jersey and has travelled on eight different medical missions to Jerusalem in order to perform free surgeries on children who come from conditions of poverty. Dr. Saad Saad has also patented two inventions as well as developed numerous pediatric surgical techniques.

 

In regard to what inspired Dr. Saad Saad to enter the medical profession, he has playfully stated that when he “was in high school in Kuwait in 1965, I first thought I wanted to be an engineer…After a few summers, I realized I wanted to have a profession where I would be working indoors…I selected to not only be a doctor but to become a surgeon working in an air-conditioned operating room.” The truth is that Dr. Saad Saad’s long list of accomplishments in his medical career is more than enough proof that he has a serious side as well. Dr. Saad Saad has a great love of improving the lives of others and this has been a consistent theme throughout his medical career.

 

Dr. Saad Saad was born in Palestine and raised in Kuwait. He was one of eight children. His family has an outstanding academic tradition and three of his siblings are surgeons while another two hold PhDs. During Dr. Saad Saad’s medical career he has served in the capacity of surgeon-in-chief and co-medical director of K Hovnanian Children Hospital based in Hackensack, New Jersey. In 1980 his medical career was interrupted by a huge opportunity that took Dr. Saad Saad and his family back to the Middle East. Dr. Saad Saad and his family stayed in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia in what turned out to be a very positive experience. He enjoyed using his skills as a surgeon to help prestigious patients and earn the trust of the royal family of Saudi Arabia. The experience also gave him the opportunity to meet people all over the world. Dr. Saad Saad has a history of serving people from all walks of life. He was the surgeon for the Saudi royal family but the royal family also opens its hospital doors to the poorest families with the most complicated surgical problems and this opened Dr. Saad Saad’s eyes.

 

Dr. Saad Saad also created a surgical residency program for Saudi medical students. He saw that there was a great need for a surgical residency program in Saudi Arabia and established a connection with the Royal College of Surgeons in England. He is very proud of these achievements that he accomplished while working for the Saudi royal family and it is because of Dr. Saad that many Saudi students received the opportunity to study surgical training at home in Saudi Arabia.
